Of 600 likely voters polled in a phone survey, 43.4% said Ottawa County commissioners made the wrong move in closing the program, with 35% supporting the decision.
Richard Czuba, founder of the Glengariff Group polling service, said the data is more striking when respondents are broken down into subgroups.
Among college-educated respondents, 52.5% disapproved of the decision while 33.5% approved of it. Others said they didn’t know or didn’t answer the question.
