While it had been several months since a new case of Newcastle disease was reported in Poland, that streak has ended.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) reported that the presence of the disease was confirmed in a commercial laying hen flock in Przyczyna Dolna on September 8. The flock included 78,673 birds, and of those 8,440 birds had died.
