9/4/2018 update starts here.

This bare tree always catches my attention when I walk this trail.

My wife and I found the same amount of water on the path.  This time we turned around, which is part of the reason why I logged more than 17,000 steps today.

8/28/2018 update starts here.

This morning my wife and I decided to 'test out' the footpath from Longmeadow Road to Stricker's Park along the western edge of Stricker's Pond.

The view looks deceivingly like it always has at this time of year.

Now unsteady observation platform

Washout.  Nothing serious -- not like the gulch we had just seen.

Uh-oh.  The last short stretch is under water. Undeterred, we took off our shoes and socks and continued on our way.
