35 days after the 7/31/2025 White House press release, the National Capital Planning Commissionthe federal government’s central planning agency for the National Capital Region, met for the 8th time this year.  It was the commission first meeting after the announcement to build a White House ballroom.   As you can see below, the item does not appear on the group's agenda.

Their next meeting takes place on Friday, December 4, 2025.  The agenda includes the following:
  • Proposed action items (6, including Women's Suffrage National Monument site selection)
  • Proposed delegated items (5, including two items related to the Smithsonian Institute)
  • Proposed exceptions (2)
  • Information presentation (RFK Stadium)
  • Projects anticipated for review over the next six months (6, including Tidal Basin development plan)

Apparently, the NCPC won't be doing its job when it comes the demolition of the East Wing of the White House to make way for a 90,000-square-foot gilded ballroom.
