It's a new strategy Republican lawmakers are employing in the wake of an unflattering March 24 decision by the Iowa Supreme Court that quoted extensively from Senate floor debate.
In response, Senate Republicans have limited what they say that could go into the public record and be used against them in a court case months or years later. [emphasis added]
Their decision has infuriated Democrats and worries transparency advocates, but Republican lawmakers and some attorneys say it's the natural result of a Supreme Court ruling they believe has overreached by wading into the Legislature's business.
Apparently, the morons in the Iowa GOP don't understand the purpose of having three branches of government with their own powers and responsibilities. They want it all!
What a DroolFest!
