100 Years of Frank Sinatra: "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night "

Frank Sinatra recorded "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" for Columbia Records in New York City in November 1943, with an arrangement by Alec Wilder.  The Popular Song website ranks it as #38 among the top 40 popular songs of 1944.

The song was written by Harold Adamson and Jimmy McHugh, both of whom wrote extensively for the movies.  It was featured in the 1944 film Higher and Higher and was nominated for Best Original Song, losing to "Swinging on a Star" from Going My Way.

Written on the back of the photo.  Skiing in view of snow peaked Mt. Rainier.  Picture taken at 4:00 p.m.  Clouds had gathered around peak on otherwise clear day.  Dec. 6, 1943.  Some fun!
