The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the flock included 1,965,600 hens, and the case was confirmed on October 9. This is the second commercial poultry flock in Washington to be hit by HPAI in 2025, with the other occurring in January. In that situation, 307,800 hens in Franklin County were affected.
