Up until 1960, Troy was an amazingly consistent performer on the baby names chart, cutting a relatively steady path through the mid-200s.  Then along came heartthrob Troy Donahue, whose popularity boosted the name to a peak of #40 in 1967 and 1968.  He has, however, been losing cachet during the past decade.
