Trump’s debate stance is unpopular: In his latest memo, Lead U.S. Politics Analyst Cameron Easley says Trump’s plan to skip the debate “isn’t likely to sit well with his supporters or the broader Republican electorate.” He notes that just 17% of potential GOP primary voters — and 7% of his supporters — think Trump should not participate in any primary debates. 

Ramaswamy faces high debate expectations: Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has 10% support — matching a previous tracking high — as he faces high expectations on a Trump-less debate stage, per our survey data. Our weekly tracking also shows that Ramaswamy’s net favorability rating has eclipsed DeSantis’ for the first time, with potential primary voters being 43 points more likely to hold positive views than negative views of the third-place candidate.
