Tamara Gasparick of De Pere — a member-at-large with the Republican Party of Brown County — was among members of the public who spoke in support of the new policy, calling it "inappropriate" for other flags representing various political movements, religions or other ideologies to be displayed in public education settings.
Before the flag policy discussion, the Republican Party of Brown County sent a message to its members to "stand up against the liberal propaganda machine now" and attend the board meeting "regardless if you live in De Pere or elsewhere."  [emphasis added]
"This is a great opportunity to show support for our conservative school board members who will be voting for the patriotic flag policy," the letter said.
On student's response:
"This resolution is not a matter of indoctrination or even of representation. It is a question of comfort and decency,"
Have you no decency, Tamara?

One GOP member spoke out against politics in school, after announcing he was running for office. Another said the US flag was for all and that certain flags only represent 5% of the population so they don't belong. Another, wearing a GOP hat and a "This is my pride flag" (American flag) shirt lamented how divided we are and blamed others for this. They truly have no sense for irony, or shame. The conservative board members who want the policy denied the policy change was about the pride flag, but every GOP person there spoke about pride flags being political and divisive and needing to be banned. Hmmm.
