Candidate biographies
The winner of the August 12 primary will face Howard Marklein in the November 4 general election.
About Howard:
- Home: Spring Green
- Occupation: Certified Public Accountant
- Elected office/memberships: Wisconsin State Assembly 51st district (since 2010)
Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) currently represents the 17th District. He has served in the State Senate since 1991 and was elected to the State Assembly in 1982. His moderate politics and willingness to work across the aisle have made him an outcast within his own party. Rep. Marklein announced his candidacy in April 2013 well before Sen. Schultz made his decision not to run.
