Is Wisconsin getting Foxconned again? The company has a long history of broken promises.

Holly Gilvary reports:
Mount Pleasant Village President David DeGroot said village officials “cannot comment on the specifics of Foxconn’s plans, but we look forward to working with the company as they proceed.”
“We are excited for Foxconn’s plan to create more jobs and expand its 21st century manufacturing operations,” DeGroot said.
WEDC said Foxconn is expanding its manufacturing footprint in Wisconsin “to meet rising demand from U.S. customers.” Jerry Hsiao, chief product officer for Foxconn, said in the release that Wisconsin accounts for almost a fourth of the company’s workforce in the U.S., and this second-stage project will double that presence in Wisconsin by the end of the decade.

Foxconn, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company, signed a deal in 2017 to open operations in Mount Pleasant with a $10 billion manufacturing campus, according to earlier Journal Times reporting. The company originally was expected to create 13,000 jobs. [emphasis added]
