The bills would prohibit minors from being brought to an event where "a group of adult participants intentionally expose their genitals..." and also change the wording of Wisconsin law to make it a crime to intentionally expose oneself. Under current Wisconsin law, it is a crime to "indecently" expose genitalia, instead of "intentionally."
The June incident at the annual World Naked Bike Ride drew national attention, including from Wisconsin lawmakers in Washington. U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Minocqua, grilled U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland during a September hearing over the incident, asking why he was not investigating it from his federal office.
