Stafford County, Virginia: Why the GOP believes that voter suppression is the only path to survival

    

Washington DC metro area (northern Virginia)

Stafford County.  From a 39.6 percentage point GOP advantage in 1980 to a 3.2 percentage point Democratic advantage in 2020.  

3rd party votes:  18.6% in 1992, 8% in 1996, 6.3% in 2016
(Alabama segregationist George Wallace received 34.1% of the vote in 1968)

Trump received 3,768 more votes than he did in 2016, a 11% increase.   Biden received 12,337 more votes than Clinton did in 2016, an increase of 44%.

Trump's share of the vote decreased by 4.1 percentage points. Biden increased Clinton's share of the vote by 8.2 percentage points
