CES 2019: Iris-scanning rearview mirror gets into your head

Iris-Scanning Rearview Mirrors Shown at CES 2019.  (The News Wheel, 1/30/2019)

Seat settings.  Check.

Listening preference and volume setting.  Check, check.

And then there's the creepy stuff.
Now for the dystopian side of things: The iris scanning system will also act like an A.I. assistant by keeping tabs on where and when you stopped for gas, purchase history, where you were going on such and such date. Remember localized info of what temperature you like is fine, but when it comes to acting like a search history that shows everywhere you’ve been and what you’ve done in the car, it quickly turns bad.

Gentex, the company that created this technology, sez it's a few years away from general use.
