USPS replacing all of its self-service kiosks with upgraded machines. (Postal Reporter, 4/28/2018)
The new self-service kiosks feature:
- Technology to measure the customer’s mailpiece when it is placed on the scale.
- Single output bin for postage and labels that illuminates and flashes when an item is dispensed.
- Blue light over the monitor screen that lights up if there is an alert on the kiosk.
- Scanner that allows the sale of retail products and Ready Post items.
- Camera that allows employees to transmit pictures to the help desk.
All this and glitches, too.
