DWD Equal Rights Division: No Discrimination in Community Library Case

Link to October 16 MyKenoshaCounty.com article, "Close complaint is a bust . State finds no wrong doing by library".

Excerpt: On Sept. 15, the Community Library board received word that the Division of Workforce Development found no probably [sic] cause to believe that the library discriminated against former li-brary director Mary Ellen Close in either her demotion or termination.

This dismissal will become final unless Close submits a written appeal letter to the Equal Rights Division. It must be received within 30 days of the date that the current de-termination was mailed.

If the filing is timely, the case will be certified for a formal administrative hearing. Evidence from the recent in-vestigation would not auto-matically become part of the hearing.

If no timely appeal is re-ceived, the division will close the case without further action.

Close accused the library board of discriminating against her for gender and age
