Denver’s average March temperature this year — a combination of all the city’s daily highs and lows throughout the month — was a record-breaking 51.6 degrees, according to weather service records. That’s nearly 10 degrees hotter than Denver’s usual March average of 41.7 degrees, according to the weather service. [emphasis added]
The city also broke six daily heat records in March and smashed the decades-old monthly record four times, according to weather service climate data.
Records included highs of:
- 85 degrees on March 19, breaking the 81-degree daily record set in 1907 and the 84-degree monthly record set in 1971.
- 85 degrees on March 20, breaking the 80-degree daily record set in 1907 and tying the new monthly record set the day before.
- 86 degrees on March 21, breaking the 78-degree record set in 1995 and setting a new March heat record, again.
- 81 degrees on March 24, breaking the 76-degree record set in 1896.
- 87 degrees on March 25, breaking the 75-degree record set in 2025 and the monthly heat record for a fourth time.
- 79 degrees on March 29, tying the record set for the city in 1879.
