Originally, Republican U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Eric Schmitt of Missouri were scheduled to attend Bird’s fundraiser. But they were held up in Washington, D.C., as Republicans in the U.S. Senate attempt to move through a series of judicial confirmations.
Bird said she spoke with the senators and told them she appreciates the work they’re doing on behalf of Republican President Donald Trump. [emphasis added]
