Gibbs, a failed Republican congressional candidate [he lost the race by nearly 13 percentage points], was hired as county administrator Jan. 3, 2023, in a surprise move at the first meeting of the newly seated, ultraconservative majority faction on the Ottawa County board called Ottawa Impact, which Moss leads.
Gibbs wasn’t present during the board meeting Tuesday, prompting some commissioners to ask where he was. When asked about Gibbs’ whereabouts by county commissioner Jacob Bonnema, Moss told Bonnema that he was welcome to go look for him.
Gibbs did not immediately return a request for comment. County Communications Manager Shannon Felgner said Tuesday morning she did not know where Gibbs was and that he wasn’t in the office.
According to Merriam-Webster, the first-known use of 'shit show', as in something (such as an event or a situation) that is chaotic, contentious, or unpleasant to an excessive or absurd degree, occurred in 1976.
