Departing Mead Public Library Board President Encourages Community Involvement

Excerpt:   For 110 years, Mead Public Library has served our community. It has grown with the times. For those who think library services are passé, read the annual report. Library usage is at an all-time high.

But this valuable resource is in peril.

How can you support your library?

• Use its services, often.
• Attend Common Council meetings when library issues are on the agenda.
• Attend library board meetings.
• Let your aldermen know, repeatedly, that your library is important to you — and insist that they listen.
• Call the mayor's office, if all else fails. He keeps a log of phone calls. He's here to serve us.
