According to APHIS, there have been 45 cases of HPAI in the U.S. over the past 30 days – nine commercial and 36 backyard – affecting approximately 1.94 million birds across 20 states: New York, Indiana, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Mississippi, Maryland, Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Montana, New Mexico, Missouri, Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin and South Dakota.
However, commercial cases are trending down. There were 12 commercial cases in March compared to 59 in February and 85 in January.
