It's a harsh assesesment, but Father James Altman deserves to be excommunicated and burn in hell

As a priest, he's unworthy; he's not doing the Lord, he's a Russian shill.  Yet he pictures himself as something of a rock star.

During the U.S. Grace Force podcast, Altman talked abortion, compared the “obedience” in the church to Nazi Germany, and newly spoke about the war in Ukraine.
Altman, who said he has visited Ukraine before, downplayed the war and suggested that the media was inflating the events.“
This is absolutely knowing and intentional manipulation from propaganda,” Altman said.  “There was this, allegedly, this attack on a hospital, but turns out it was like, if I understand correctly, a closed hospital, there were no patients in there. But the media, left-wing propagandists, said, ‘See, oh no, look ... now they’re attacking this hospital and hurting people there.’ When in fact it pretty much was empty and abandoned.

So now and always, let us realize our help is in the name of the Lord, who actually did make heaven and earth, and that's all the science we need to know," Altman said. "The whole world will come to know we will not be canceled."

6/17/2021 update, "Thousands of far-right crackpots pour money into defense fund of unfit La Crosse priest James Altman", starts here.

In the meantime, Altman has secured over $692,000 in donations between two crowdfunding sites for legal and personal costs endured through the process. Merchandise is also being sold on a YouTube page in support of Altman known as “Caritas in Veritate,” including T-shirts reading “I stand with Father James Altman” and “You can’t be Catholic and Democrat.”
A rally and fundraiser is also scheduled later this month, hosted by Alpha News, the Minnesota-based, far-right group that has featured Altman in several videos. Ticket holders to the rally will have a “private dinner” with Altman prior to the event, which is also being live streamed.

5/26/2021 update, "At a minimum, former La Crosse priest James Altman is a megalomaniac", starts here.

Say goodbye to the amplifier of conspiracy parables

Altman, who currently serves at St. James the Less parish on La Crosse’s North Side, has come under fire in the last year for controversial comments he has made, including anti-Black and LGBTQ+ rhetoric, stating that all Democrats are “Godless” hypocrites going to hell, spreading misinformation on vaccines and COVID-19, frequently appearing on far-right media platforms and more.
The Diocese has chosen to handle the matter internally for the most part, stating it was working with Altman privately.

His bravado-fueled farewell homily to his parish.

Starting at the 16:46 mark:

And for the record -- and this is just staggering -- for the record, through my efforts at preaching the truth, somehow, very unintended, the truth went viral over the past 9 months.  People all over the globe, as far away as Borneo, have written me over 4000 letters and cards, more than that on email, saying the same thing.  "We're starving out here."  [emphasis added]

Original 4/26/2021 post, "At a minimum, La Crosse priest James Altman lives in an irony-free world", starts here.

A community member last week shared with the Tribune a photo from Easter Services at St. James the Less Catholic Church where Father James Altman presides, showing a crowded church, and a page from a church bulletin calling vaccines “an experimental use of a genetic altering substance that modifies your body — your temple of the Holy Spirit.”
The flyer, which was posted to the church’s website as of press time and reviewed by the Tribune, states it is “diabolical for anyone to virtue-signal/shame/compel you to take such an experimental drug, making you nothing other than a guinea pig,” and also says those recommending inoculation are “lying to your face.”
“God is still the best doctor and prayer is still the best medicine,” the missive closes.
