Lulu was the 95th most popular baby name for girls during the 1880s and 157th during the 1890s.  She continued her downward slide in the 20th century.  She rebounded a bit in the mid-1930s, moving up to #701 in 1935, a year after Little Lulu debuted in The Saturday Evening Post.  She eventually starred in her own comic book.
