The Question of Little Free Libraries. Are they a boon or bane to communities? (American Libraries, 1/2/2018)
But are these seemingly wholesome book boxes helping or hurting staffed libraries? And how are librarians and communities across the country leveraging the presence of these outposts? In response to the first question. Based on the selection I have seen in all of the Little Free Libraries listed below, real public libraries have nothing to worry about. Most of what is found in these little boxes is junk that wouldn't turn over at a library book sale. You'll also find more than a few library discards.
In response to the second question. Since when have libraries become all about print books again? Cuz that's about 98% of what I've found in these little boxes.
