Link to October 11 Louisville Courier-Journal article, "Library opens new adult-learning center".
Excerpt: A new learning center devoted primarily to adult- and continuing-education was dedicated on the second floor of the Main Library at York and Third streets Friday by the Louisville Free Public Library and the Jefferson County Public Schools.
The joint project of the library system, Library Foundation and the JCPS Adult and Continuing Education Division is intended to help meet the demand for educational services for adults entering and re-entering the workforce, or seeking higher education instruction.
Activities in the learning center will include classes in adult literacy and General Education Degree (GED) preparation.
The learning center has four classrooms and state-of-the-art, wired learning services and resources and is part of $2.5 million in Main Library improvements recently funded by the Library Foundation.
