Meet the Looney Tunes Iowa clown that wants to make public libraries off-limits for students

Dozens of people attended the subcommittee hearing for House Study Bill 636, which would bar school districts, charter schools and innovation zone schools from entering into agreements with public libraries or bookmobiles where students could use their school identification to check out books and other materials.\ 

During the Wednesday, Feb. 4, hearing, several speakers — each given a minute to speak — talked about how some schools do not have the physical space for a library or a public library is already located within a school building. [emphasis added]

And guess who is behind it all.

The study bill comes months after Moms for Liberty pushed back against a partnership between Des Moines Public Schools and Des Moines Public Library which allows seventh through 12th grade students to use their school issued IDs to checkout books and other materials.

70s pop culture: Popularity of Farrah as a baby name for girls

 

Farrah spent a total of 14 nonconsecutive years on the baby names chart.   She made an auspicious debut at #276 in 1976, then peaked at #177 the following year.  After that her popularity as a baby named dropped like a rock off a cliff.

She made two unsuccessful comeback attempts, one in 1987 and the other in 2010.  Neither went anywhere.
