Excerpt: In 2007, Fallin, then a U.S. congresswoman, laughed off greenhouse pollution, saying people “need to be more concerned about global warming in the U.S. caused by a nuclear attack.” Earlier this year, Fallin attacked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for attempting to enforce clean air and clean water laws on her state’s oil and gas industry.

Fighting to Save the Telling Mansion Library

County library board postpones vote on sale of Telling Mansion, home of South Euclid-Lyndhurst Library. (Cleveland Plain Dealer, 8/4/2013)

Excerpt: The board is considering selling the building for $755,000 to Richard Barone. Barone, a Sarasota, Fla. investor, grew up in South Euclid and has plans to convert the Telling Mansion into the American Porcelain Museum. Barone is a collector of porcelain art and the museum would hold pieces from his private collection, as well as those from other collections. 

The CCPL, meanwhile, has plans to build a new branch to serve South Euclid and Lyndhurst on South Green Road in South Euclid, across from Notre Dame College. It would likely open sometime in 2014.
