Voters in four of the seven cities in Dane County -- Madison, Monona, Middleton, and Fitchburg -- gave Scott Walker a smaller percentage of votes than the overall county tally of 23.5%

Only one village --Shorewood Hills, population 2024 -- 'underperformed the county tally of 23.5% of the vote for Scott Walker. The Village of Dane (population 1142), as opposed to the Town of Dane (population 1137), gave Tony Evers a 22-vote advantage (268-246), not quite enough to change the overall Town of Dane picture from red to blue.

There is a patch of red in Dane County. Scott Walker received 52.3% of the vote in the Town of Dane, the only municipality in the county that he won. Walker received at least 40% of the vote in 16 of 35 Dane County towns.
