Excerpt: Supporters of Crozet’s new library are confident the project will be an economic engine, spurring smart, structured community development at the crossroads of the small western Albemarle community.

Last month, officials gathered for the groundbreaking of the $5.8 million, nearly 24,000-square-foot project, which is part of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library system.

The new building will replace Crozet’s existing 1,900-square-foot library. To furnish the library, the community has pledged to raise an additional $1.6 million.
