Excerpt: A report Monday gave Gov. Scott Walker and lawmakers this advice for keeping Wisconsin's $77 billion pension fund strong: Leave it alone.
Immediately, Walker said he was taking that advice, which partly came from within his own administration. The report, approved by Walker's administration secretary, recommended against allowing a 401(k)-style retirement option to compete against the existing pension system serving hundreds of thousands of public employees and retirees.
