'Concentration' @ the Middletown (New Jersey) Public Library: Forfeit 1 Gift
Middletown plan calls for 26 layoffs, including 10 cops. (Asbury Park Press, 2/15/2011)
Excerpt: The plan for a total of 26 layoffs represents a "worst-case scenario'' for Middletown, Mayor Anthony Fiore said. To avoid parts of it, he said employee unions would need to be flexible and the township public library would need to kick back $898,000 to the municipality's coffers.
Fiore later apologized for using the phrase 'kick back'. (OK, I just made that up.)
