"Shifting explanations": New York Times continues to normalize Trump's compulsive lying

Lies, lies, and more lies.  Just part of his playbook, eh?

Headline and excerptsNew York Times, 8/1542022

The reporters leave it to John Bolton, a security adviser in the Trump administration for 17 months, to tell us what's going on.
Mr. Bolton, who served as Mr. Trump’s third national security adviser over 17 months, said he had never heard of the standing order that Mr. Trump’s office claimed to have in place. It is, he said, “almost certainly a lie.”

Forget about the collocation 'almost certainly'.  It is certainly a lie.
