Meet Killer Covid Clown and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry

Landry is an outspoken opponent of COVID-19 mandates. He confronted the state university system before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s full approval of the Pfizer vaccine and has clashed publicly with Gov. John Bel Edwards over an executive order requiring masks for K-12 school children.
Links to the vaccine opt-out forms were posted on the attorney general’s official website after reports of Louisiana State University dropping students who failed to meet its vaccine compliance deadline. Nearly 80 noncompliant students were unenrolled, an LSU spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, the majority of Louisiana's 64 parishes are at extremely high risk of Covid spread.

The Advocate, 8/8/2021
Even as the delta variant has swamped Louisiana and the U.S. in a fourth wave that has increased COVID-19 hospitalizations to record levels — and led some prominent Republicans to reconsider their earlier hesitancy — Landry has doubled down in recent days. He used his prominent perch to file a lawsuit against a private medical school in north Louisiana over a coronavirus vaccine mandate, and publicly shared forms that he claimed parents should fill out to object to mask requirements for their children at school. He also criticized the Catholic bishop of Lafayette for sending "very mixed signals during this pandemic" by requiring children to wear masks at school. Landry’s all-out assault on public health efforts, which he portrays as intrusive, is helping him to stake out a place on the far fringes of his party as the early skirmishing over who will be Louisiana’s next governor begins.

The entire state is a hot spot.

New York Times (arrow added below)

Louisiana's 7-day average of new cases has increased from 529 on July 8 to 4,603 on August 8, an increase of 770%.
