Clearly, AM radio was not ready for The Who in 1966.
"My Generation" debuted at #98 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending January 15, 1966. It spent 5 weeks on the chart, peaking at #74.
The first time I heard this song, I stared at my transistor radio the entire time, riveted.
A live version from "Live at Leeds", which debuted on the Billboard Top 200 album charts for the week ending May 30, 1970. It spent 44 weeks on the chart, peaking at #4.
