The system functioned the way it is supposed to work, though some involved in the process may not agree with the reconsideration committee's decision.
However, from what we have been hearing and reading, a clear majority believes the committee made the right call.
The process was set in motion when a parent asked that the book titled "One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies" be removed from the Theisen library. The parent's rationale for the request is that the book by award-winning author Sonya Sones is sexually explicit and includes age-inappropriate content.
