Roy Graber reports:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reported that the presence of HPAI was confirmed on March 5 in a flock of 52,600 commercial meat turkeys in Lawrence County, Illinois.
That situation was confirmed just two days after HPAI was confirmed at another Illinois farm. In that instance, 20,400 commercial meat turkeys in Crawford County were affected. Prior to these two cases, Illinois had not had any confirmed cases of HPAI in commercial poultry since March 20, 2025.
