The harshness of Lonsdale’s diatribe would have been out of place on any college campus, but was particularly so at UATX, which had framed itself as a bulwark against the cancel culture that many contend has become common in the American academy. UATX’s image had never been entirely nonpartisan, but Lonsdale’s message signaled a decisive, rightward turn.

Authorities reported Rev. Korey Lavergne, 37, is charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile (3 counts). They said he is being booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. 

Father Lavergne is the pastor at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, the home parish of the "Little Cajun Saint," Charlene Richard. 

In fact, Father Lavergne served as the official courier for the diocese, taking thousands of pages of documents related to her cause for sainthood to the Vatican.

Philippines reports 10 case of bird flu in past 10 days

Of the Asian nations, the Philippines has officially recorded the largest number of new highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreaks involving poultry over the past 10 days. 

The nation’s animal health agency has confirmed the presence of an HPAI virus of the H5 group in 10 flocks with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) over this period. 

Of these, six additional outbreaks involving the H5N1 virus serotype occurred in Isabela province, and started between mid-October and early December of 2025. Four of these involved commercial farms comprising up to 54,700 birds, and the other two affected much smaller backyard flocks.

Stay away from any and all sick or dead birds and mammals. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is warning residents to avoid any contact as these animals may be infected with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), or the Bird Flu. 

Avian Flu transmission to humans is uncommon, but possible. Should you contract the Bird Flu your symptoms could include fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, and pink eye. In severe cases, Pneumonia, difficulty breathing, altered consciousness, and seizures.  

Wild bird deaths from Avian Flu is at peak numbers during the winter months. At this point in New York state, infection is widespread in wild birds such as Canada Goose, swans, other waterfowl, Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, other raptors, crows, and shorebirds. HPAI can also infect domestic poultry, corvids, and mammals.
