Why? Because demented Donald Trump cares about only one thing: himself

HeadlineMilwaukee Journal Sentinel, 9/27/2024
"Had any candidate asked, the answer would have been no. We simply can't accommodate it. We are stretched across seven days and still can't get everything in. To add one more thing at the eleventh hour would not have been fair to the exhibitors and attendees," Behnke said. "Can you imagine the attendees stuck in traffic on the Beltline or international (guests) trying to arrive at the airport and the airport is shut down for security purposes? Why would you disrupt something so special to the people who attend it?"  [emphasis added]

Anyone who has been anywhere near the Alliant Energy Center during World Dairy Expo understands that this request is off-the-charts wacko,  Just plain delusional.

GET ME REWRITE: GOP WIsconsin State Assembly elections committee chair urges lying Tom Tiffany to stop clutching his pearls

There are guardrails, you hysterial idiot.
Republican state Rep. Scott Krug made the statement after Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany called for an investigation and questioned whether the clerk’s office can be trusted.
On Monday, the Madison City Clerk’s office issued a statement saying a “data processing error” led to duplicate absentee ballots being sent to around 2,000 voters in the city. It said affected voters were being contacted and told to destroy their duplicate ballots. The city’s statement also said “because the duplicate ballots have identical barcodes, in the unlikely event that a voter submits two absentee ballots, only one can be counted.” [emphasis added]

GET ME REWRITE: Walgreen's joins the GOP War on Women in Missouri

ScreengrabKansas City Star, 9/28/2024
Natasha Ahmed’s patient had miscarried her pregnancy and was bleeding. Using an ultrasound, Ahmed, an obstetrician-gynecologist based on the Kansas side of the metro, judged that some tissue remained in the woman’s uterus.
They talked through her medical treatment options and together decided on a course of misoprostol, a drug commonly used for miscarriage management, to expel the remaining tissue.
Ahmed sent a prescription to a Walgreens pharmacy across the state line, in Grandview, and wrapped up her Monday.
The next morning she found a fax response with a message from an employee at the store: “Under Missouri law medication abortion is now illegal. Please advise patient to fill across Kansas border.”  [emphasis added]

U.S. 40 Cross Section of the United States of America (Chapter 36: Boonville)

That was then (1953).

From chapter 36:
Boonville, Missouri, is described in a pamphlet issued by the Chamber of Commerce as being "where the Boonslick road ended and the Santa Fe trail began."  Though the complete accuracy of both these statements may be questioned, the fact remains that Boonville is a highly interesting town.
This is now.  Construction of Thespian Hall began in 1855.

Google Maps

Boonville is 148 miles west of St. Louis and 103 miles east of Kansas City.  When George R. Stewart visited Boonville in early 1950s, the city had a population of 6,700. Its current population is 7,964, down from a peak of  8,319 in 2010.   Boonville is the seat of Cooper County, where the population peaked at 22,707 in 1890.  It now has 17,103 residents, most of the Trumpy.

Starring GOp Pinal County Board
SUPERvisor Jeff Serdy
As an election supervisor in Pinal County, Jeff Serdy criticized the Maricopa County Board of Su- pervisors in 2021 for “fighting the Constitution” by opposing the Cyber Ninjas audit, asking, “What are you hiding?” Also in 2021, he said it was good that the Pinal County Board of Supervisors had the power to appoint the county elections director as opposed to how it works in Maricopa County. In early 2023, Serdy voiced support for state legisla- tors changing the law to allow election supervisors to vote against certification. “The last two elections have been kind of wonky,” he said. “What if 2024 is even worse and we’re forced to vote ‘yes’ on something we don’t want to vote ‘yes’ on?”
