GET ME REWRITE: Ottawa County Commission moves to the next iteration of hiring process for new administrator

Headline:  mlive, 6/12/2025

Ottawa County’s last full-time administrator, John Gibbs, wasfired in late February 2024 over allegations of misconduct.
Gibbs later reached a settlement with the county that paid him $190,000 and allowed his record to show he resigned. Commissioner Joe Moss told MLive/The Grand Rapids Press he fully expects the interview process will be reopened. He said the board will look to talk to existing applicants and any new ones before moving forward.
“I’d remind people that searches often have multiple iterations. They don’t always find the right person on the first shot,” Moss said. ”Perhaps we have, I’m not saying we haven’t, but I do sense that the board wants to have the opportunity to interview multiple people."  [emphasis added]
