Susan, you're shopping at Kmart, for crying out loud!

As quoted in Super Bowl of Shopping Is More Like a Scrimmage.  (ABC News, 11/27/2015)
In Denver, for instance, Susan Montoya had nearly an entire Kmart to herself Friday morning. Montoya half-heartedly flipped through a rack of girls' holiday party dresses and looked down the store's empty aisles.

Mr. Roboto, parking attendant, fired at Miami Beach's BrickellHouse

What could possibly go wrong?

Road to Robotic Parking Is Littered With Faulty Projects.  (The New York Times, 11/27/2015)
At a luxury residential high-rise in downtown Miami, a $16 million robotic garage plagued with delays finally closed, leaving tenants paying $28 a day to park elsewhere. The police were called to keep order at the building, BrickellHouse.

Closer to the (unacceptable) action

Robotic parking garage ruins commute, Brickell condo residents say. (Miami Herald, 5/15/2015)
During off-peak hours, the garage works fine, residents say. But when it’s time to go to work, impatient commuters complain of waits up to 30 minutes. Apologetic garage attendants offer free Starbucks to ease jangled nerves.
“I’ve already been late to several, important board meetings at work,” said Beatriz Guerrero, a marketing executive who moved into the tower at 1300 Brickell Bay Drive two months ago. “I’m worried about losing my job.”
Guerrero said she asked her landlord for a discount in her monthly rent. No dice, the landlord said.
The 374-unit building opened in November, and delays have gotten worse as more tenants move in.

Residents furious as robotic parking garage at Brickell condo shuts down.  (Miami Herald, 11/5/2015)
The garage’s operator, New Jersey-based Boomerang, voluntarily declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August.
Boomerang said in court papers that one of its lenders, a company called Parking Source that is controlled by Hernandez, had stopped funding its operations. Boomerang is seeking at least $25 million in damages against Parking Source, and alleges that the company is trying to steal its employees and ruin its business.
The messy financial relationship between Hernandez and Boomerang has left Brickell House residents in the lurch.

The thin-skinned, hypersensitive, prickly, and blinkered Donald Trump

Hard to believe some people want such an insensitive blowhard to be President.

On Tuesday, November 24, the New York Times published the following article:

A Definitive Debunking of Donald Trump’s 9/11 Claims.
And then there was the wisp of a story that Mr. Farmer [then New Jersey's attorney general] said was most disturbing of all: “That Muslims were dancing on the rooftops and in the streets of Jersey City and Paterson.”
Indeed, pockets of radical Islamists had set up in Jersey City in the past. The 1993 World Trade Center bombers rented a van and stored chemicals and fertilizers in that city.
Open jubilation at the mass death, Mr. Farmer said, might quickly be followed by rioting and more deaths. “If true, we would have had to mobilize the State Police and National Guard and locked the place down,” he said.
“We followed up on that report instantly because of its implications,” he added. “The word came back quickly from Jersey City, later from Paterson. False report. Never happened.”
According to a 11/25/2015 Media Matters in America post, Serge Kovaleski covered the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and has recently added to the definitive debunking of the presidential candidate's smear.

Then Trump unleashes a series of nana nana boo boo tweets -- 5 in about an hour's time.

The library will be closed from Monday, November 23, 2015, through Monday, January 4, 2016.

Jeannette is located 26 miles east-southeast of Pittsburgh.

Unlike Wisconsin, if Pennsylvania's state budget isn't approved by June 30, payments for services are suspended until the impasse ends.  When such a situation occurs in Wisconsin, the previous biennial budget remains in effect.

In its manufacturing heyday, Jeannette was home to numerous glass factories, including the Jeannette Glass Company and McKee Glass Works.

The way I see it, Bob Gannon's bill doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell in the Wisconsin State Senate

19 members currently have more than 12 years of service in the Wisconsin State Legislature -- in most cases, the Assembly and Senate combined.

GOP State Rep Proposes Term Limits For Governor, Legislature.  (Wisconsin Public Radio, 11/24/2015)
He said Tuesday that term limits will motivate lawmakers to work more quickly and ensure an infusion of fresh ideas.
The proposal wouldn't apply to Gov. Scott Walker or anyone in the Legislature at that time it's passed. Instead, it would start in 2020 and limit newly elected Senate and Assembly members to no more than 12 years in office, and restrict the governor and lieutenant governor to eight years.

Gannon is proposing a constitutional amendment, which means that both houses of the legislature must pass it before it goes to the voters.

As reported in Prison guard shortage forces new overtime policy.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 11/23/2015)

Erpenbach and many officers contend the department could better hang on to its employees if it paid them more, gave them more training and treated them better. Starting officers make about $15 an hour, and the officers and administration have repeatedly clashed since 2011, when collective bargaining ended for most public workers under Walker's signature law, known as Act 10.
The new overtime policy comes as the department is facing severe staff shortages and routinely making officers work extra hours. The situation was so acute this summer that Columbia Correctional Institution paid officers from other institutions for mileage and hotel stays to help cover shifts at Columbia.

Highest and lowest voter turnout percentages by state in 2012 Presidential election

All but one of the top 10 states voted for Barack Obama.  Mitt Romney won North Carolina with 50.6% of the vote.

6 of the 10 states with the lowest turnout voted for Mitt Romney.

And here's why I looked this stuff up.

The Most Important Article You'll Read Today About The Democratic Party.  (Daily Kos, 11/21/2015)

The author claims that West Virginia, for example, ranked 50th out of all the states in voter turnout in 2012.

Which is correct, but slightly misleading.  The list includes the District of Columbia, so strictly speaking, West Virginia ranks 49th out of the 50 states.  Hawaii takes last place.

"The most important article" is Who Turned by Blue State Red by Alec MacGillis.  (The New York Times, 11/20/2015)
In eastern Kentucky and other former Democratic bastions that have swung Republican in the past several decades, the people who most rely on the safety-net programs secured by Democrats are, by and large, not voting against their own interests by electing Republicans. Rather, they are not voting, period. They have, as voting data, surveys and my own reporting suggest, become profoundly disconnected from the political process.

Kentucky, by the way, ranks 11th on the list of state's with the lowest percentage of voter turnout in 2012.
