GET ME REWRITE: Ottawa Impact commissioners give voters another reason to show them the door

The vote was 6-4, with all 6 Ottawa Impact commissioners voting to reject.
Commissioners debated during a meeting Tuesday, Sept. 24, over whether to accept the $900,000 grant, which would help fund education, training and response to communicable diseases and infection prevention.
Board Chair Joe Moss noted the grant is classified by the state as a “COVID supplemental grant” even though it could be used for broader purposes.
“Considering the fact that I do not expect any COVID emergencies or other similar emergencies with communicable diseases, I think it would be safe and prudent to reject the grant and not pre-plan ahead to use it for an emergency,” Moss said.
