Polls predict a Clinton victory in South Carolina, but seriously underestimate her strength

Source:  Real Clear Politics (Feb. 10-25 avg.), The New York Times (results)

Clinton wins SC in landslide.  (The State, 2/27/2016)
All you need to know.  Clinton won black voters by a margin of 84-16, according to network exit polls. African-American voters made up 62 percent of primary voters, up from 55 percent in 2008, according to exit polls. South Carolina was the first state of the 2016 primary season with a significant African-American population.

LINCOLN HILLS SCANDAL UPDATE: Scott Walker and the broken chain of command (with Jessie Rodriguez exception)

As quoted in Retired Racine judge on Lincoln Hills letter: Scott Walker 'swept it under the rug'.  (Madison.com, 2/27/2016)
Once again, our Governor is out of the loop.  That surprise turned to outrage after learning the governor never saw the letter and that years passed until investigations into problems at the Irma youth prison began.

On the other hand, there appears to be no broken chain of command between the Governor's office and the chair of the Assembly Committee on Children & Families.  (Holy shit!   That gasket-blowin' Bob Gannon is vice-chair.)

As noted in Assembly Chairwoman Shuts Down Discussion of Lincoln Hills Child Abuse.  (Press release, 2/24/2016)

As reported in Scott Walker's office warned in 2012 of safety issues at Lincoln Hills.  (Madison.com, 2/12/2016)

As quoted in same article.

Bottom line:  Hands-off manager = broken chain of command.

Walker already had his sights set on a bigger prize by then anyway.  Couldn't be bothered, I suspect.

Presidential candidate with emotional development of 12 year old weighs in on Rubio and last night's debate

Featuring such juvenile taunts as 'lightweight', 'choker', and 'little boy'.

As always, Trump goes against the grain, i.e., the conventional wisdom, but when has that ever hurt him?

Most major news outlets and conservative thought leaders are describing last night’s performance in Houston as his best yet. The Florida senator came out swinging, got under Trump’s skin and then – tag-teaming with Ted Cruz – slammed the front-runner on more than a dozen issues.

Rubio 'won', huh?  But does it matter?

Senator Marco Rubio has persuaded wealthy donors, Republican Party elders and his colleagues in Congress that he represents their best chance to overtake the seemingly invincible force that is Donald J. Trump. He just cannot seem to persuade the voters.

Old news, according to The American Conservative.

Cruz picked up four more endorsements from the group of roughly four dozen Republican House lawmakers in the past week, including Huelskamp, South Carolina Rep. Mark Sanford, Idaho Rep. Wisconsin is open for dirty business (with parenthetical clarifications)

No final decisions have been made, but the DNR expects to meet a June deadline for completing a reorganization plan demanded by [Republican] elected officials, agency deputy secretary Kurt Thiede told employees at a videotaped teleconference last week.

And just in case you didn't see this coming, try this headline on for size.

Nearly five years of one-party Republican rule has significantly altered the way Wisconsin protects its bounty of forests, lakes, streams and other natural resources, and more change may be [are definitelyon the way as the Department of Natural Resources reassesses the work its employees do.

On April 5th, we need to let Walker know that the majority of us aren't gonna be around for him or his pet.

Dear Ron Johnson, How do you possibly expect to get reelected with these numbers?

And did you know, Bob, that 70 out of 99 of your colleagues have been elected to the Assembly since November 2010?

It seems to me, Bob, there's been a high rate of turnover in your legislative body.  A constitutional amendment seems a big waste of time.

And if you could, Bob, please ask Duey if he's run this idea by Fearless Leader Fitzgerald and the other career politicians in his caucus?
