“The arrest of the Bishop and his wife is a sad day for any Christian. There’s no glory or feeling of satisfaction in any of this, and I hate it for everyone involved,” said Jerry Beeson, who was the pastor reporting the embezzlement.
Michael Hall, who was appointed as the Bishop of the Oklahoma District Pentecostal Church of God last October, and his wife, Vickie Hall, are accused of taking funds from the Living Waters Pentecostal Church.
According to court documents, the couple is charged with embezzling more than $170,000 from the church.
The two were booked into Lincoln County Jail on Thursday but bailed out soon after.
