100 Years of Frank Sinatra: "Songs for Young Lovers"

Songs for Young Lovers, Frank Sinatra's first album for Capitol, and his initial collaboration with conductor/arranger Nelson Riddle, was released in January 1954 and ranks among the most popular releases of the year.   (His previous album, his last for Columbia, was released in October 1950.)  In 2002, this album was among the 50 recordings added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.

The 8 tracks include songs from George & Ira Gershwin ("A Foggy Day", "They Can't Take That Away from Me"), Cole Porter ("I Get a Kick Out of You"), and Rodgers and Hart ("My Funny Valentine", "Little Girl Blue").

AllMusic.  "There is ia breezy confidence to Sinatra's singing."

It looks as though one of us is getting a kick out of something.  (112 8th Street North, Great Falls, Montana)
