On the other hand, millions of other Americans don't get a pass from Perkins.

The organization that Perkins head, the Family Research Council is designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as hate group.

The FRC often makes false claims about the LGBT community based on discredited research and junk science. The intention is to denigrate LGBT people as the organization battles against same-sex marriage, hate crime laws, anti-bullying programs and the repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

The nine people who will identify System President Ray Cross’ successor are the smallest in number and least diverse presidential search committee going back at least to the early 1990s. The committee’s pick will oversee the state’s public university system, its 167,000 students and an annual budget of $6.3 billion. The next leader will also inherit lingering tension with faculty and staff who believe the Regents have not advocated strongly enough against controversial, Republican-promoted laws and policies in recent years, such as the weakening of shared governance principles, the removal of tenure protections from state law and large budget cuts.

Still, the announcement represents a symbolic turnaround for the Hummer badge and GM as a whole. The original civilian Hummer (the H1) was meant to capitalize on post-Gulf War fervor and represented '90s excess between its enormous size and horrible fuel economy -- it was practically designed to hurt the environment.

Of course, GMC's announcement was made before the coronavirus pandemic changed everything.

Greetings from Trump's America: Union County, Oregon, where God does not protect covidiots

99 new coronavirus cases reported in Union County, more expected, say state officials. (Oregonian, 6/16/2020)

The Center for Human Development, a nonprofit charged with coordinating test results and contact tracing in the small northeast Oregon County, said that “a number of cases have been associated with Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church, which recently hosted a testing clinic.”

A video of a recent worship service, published on the church’s Facebook page on May 24 but since deleted, showed worshippers by the hundreds standing as closely together as was normal in pre-pandemic times as they sang, clapped and moved to the music. At that time, Union County was in Phase 1 of reopening, under which faith communities were not allowed to convene in large groups.
