Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial board lobbies for Frank Lloyd Wright inclusion on UNESCO list

Wright’s right: Keep pushing for Fallingwater on UNESCO World Heritage List. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 7/26/2016)
The conservancy is spearheading efforts to get 10 of Wright’s masterpieces in seven states added to the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Best known to Pittsburghers is Fallingwater, built in 1936 for department store owner Edgar Kauffman Sr. The others represent other high points in Wright’s career and breakthroughs in design.

The World Heritage site listing was initiated in 1972 under an international treaty for natural site conservation and cultural site preservation. The list now includes more than 1,000 sites in 161 countries, including Stonehenge in England, the Taj Mahal in India, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and, in the U.S., Yellowstone National Park, the Statue of Liberty and Independence Hall, the only listing in Pennsylvania.

Some of those communities, including parts of the Town of Berry, in northwest Dane County, are still stuck on dial-up-modem internet service, considered very slow by today’s standards.
In the 2014 gubernatorial election, 29.2% of Dane County voters cast their ballot for Scott Walker. 47.3% did so in the Town of Berry.

As for the WOW counties of Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington, Trump lead Clinton by just 5 percenrage points in the latest Marquette Law School poll. Romney beat Obama here by 18 points but still lost Wisconsin.

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump said Monday it's time to "chart a new course" in the battle against "radical Islamic terrorism," though much of what he proposed is similar to the course already set by President Obama.
In WalkerWorld, this is known as minimal vetting.
In TrumpWorld, it's probably just what he was looking for.

But, astonishingly, television hosts rarely challenge Trump when he makes a claim that already has been found to be false. For instance, Trump says he was against the 2003 invasion of Iraq, but research by BuzzFeed found that he did express support for an attack. He said the White House even sent a delegation to tell him to tone down his statements —and we found that also to be false.33 of 52 by July 15.

Immediately after the announcement, Liz Mair, a digital strategist for Walker's bid who was fired for tweeting negatively about Iowa, began spouting her thoughts about why Walker's campaign failed to attract enough money and momentum to keep it afloat.
