100 Years of Frank of Sinatra: "The Frank Sinatra Show"

In the fall of 1950, Sinatra starred in his own musical variety show, broadcast Saturday nights from 9 to 10 p.m. (Eastern time) on the CBS network.

Once again, Nancy is working from a different set of notes.
With the star singing and joining in comedy routines, the one-hour variety program rated well enough-opposite NBC's powerhouse Your Show of Shows-to stay on the air for the next two years....

According to The Complete Directory to Primetime Network TV Shows...
A good deal of publicity attended Frank Sinatra's initial plunge into televisions in 1950.  He certainly had superstar credentials from music, radio and films (though his greatest films were still to come); would he make it in the new medium of TV?  The answer was no...

Nancy neglects to mention that the show was moved to Tuesday (8:00 to 9:00 p.m.) in its second season.

During the 1950-51 television season, "Your Show of Shows" ranked 4th overall, with a 42.6 rating.

At this point in my life, I had my snowsuit to keep me warm.
