Menasha Mayor Asks Library Board to Cut $45,000 from 2012 Budget

Menasha mayor: Pool hours, snow removal cuts possible because of debt. (Appleton Post-Crescent, 11/2/2011)

Excerpt: The proposed tax levy is increasing about 3.5 percent to $9.6 million next year while tax rates are estimated to increase 3.5 percent for Winnebago County property owners and 3.9 percent for Calumet County property owners. The owner of a $150,000 property would pay about $50 more than the previous year.

"That's all due to debt,"
[Menasha Mayor Don] Merkes said. "Actually our spending on services is going down."
