Screengrab and headline: WATT Poultry, 11/4/2025
Roy Graber reports:
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), the most recently affected flocks included a flock of 24,700 commercial meat turkeys in LaMoure County, North Dakota, and 63,800 commercial meat turkeys in McPherson County, South Dakota.
For North Dakota, this is the third instance of HPAI in commercial poultry in the state during 2025. All three of those have been in commercial turkey operations and two of those have been in LaMoure County. The other case was in Dickey County.
South Dakota has been more harshly hit than its neighbor to the north so far in 2025, with 16 commercial flock infections. Four of those have been in McPherson County.
